You can heal yourself by holding your fingers!

Jin shin Jyutsu Self Help Finger Holds:

Jin Shin Jyutsu offers easy self help techniques, which can help you treat both emotional and physical discomforts. Here I am including the various finger-“holds” and their benefits.
Do not be surprised at the healing power of your fingers. All the energy meridians in your body end up in your fingers and toes. Therefore holding those for a length of time, balances the energy meridians ending up in the particular finger or toe.
All you have to do is wrap your one hand around each finger of the other hand as mentioned below.

For Maintenance you can hold each finger for a minimum of 3min, 5min would be better. In general it would be highly beneficial to get in the habit of holding your fingers –each at a time- whenever you do not need to use your hands. Like if you are waiting in traffic, watching a film, or waiting in some office, or waiting for an internet download etc….

• If you are having or are expecting to have strong emotions, such as anxiety, fear, anger, sadness etc… Or have physical problems of the ones mentioned below; it is best to hold the corresponding finger for at least 20 minutes. You will observe the emotional problem subside and disappear. For the physical problem, I suggest you apply this for 20 minutes 3 times a day.

Hold your THUMB to help treat the following:
WORRY, Stress, Insecurity and nervousness, General fatigue
• Insomnia
• Headache (base of thumb, the fleshy part right below the thumb)
• Skin Surface
• Digestion (Stomach and spleen)
• Shoulder tension
• Tendency to talk too much
• If you’ve been or need to be sitting for too long.

Hold your INDEX FINGER to help treat the following:
FEAR and anxiety, Mental confusion, Frustration
• Depression, Perfectionism, Shyness
• Tendency for criticism, self and others
• Digestion, Assimilation and Elimination (Constipation)
• Kidney and Bladder discomfort
• Muscle Tension
• Back discomfort
• Arm discomfort , Bursitis, Tennis Elbow
• Teeth , gums and jaw
• If you have been or need to be on your feet too long

Hold your MIDDLE FINGER to help treat the following:
ANGER, irritability, cowardice, instability, indecision,
• Emotional imbalance
• Sluggishness (lack of alertness), general fatigue
• Eye tension, vision
• Liver and Gall bladder
• Hypertension or hypotension
• Head discomfort, Frontal Headache
• Breastfeeding problems
• Knee discomfort
• If you’ve been or need to be reading for too long

Hold your RING FINGER to help treat the following:
GRIEF, sorrow and sadness
• Lack of common sense
• Respiratory functions, and difficulty breathing including Asthma
• Excessive mucus
• Deep skin conditions
• Tinnitus – ear ringing
• Large Intestine discomfort and elimination irregularities
• Leg Tension
• If you have been or need to be reclining for too long.

Hold your LITTLE FINGER to help treat the following:
PRETENSE or TRYING TOO HARD (Laughing on the outside, crying or fearful on the inside or trying too hard to achieve something)
• Insecurity, nervousness, confusion, judgmental
• Heart conditions, palpitations (to stop palpitations try biting the tip of your little finger –palm side)
• Small Intestine problems
• Bloating
• If you have been or need to be walking for too long.

Hold the CENTER OF YOUR PALM to help treat the following:
